Typically at Northway we only make the message portion of our services available…however, in the case of our Christmas service we decided to produce the whole thing.

My team did a great job on this and I’m really excited about getting to watch a share the finished product in HD…

If you come by Northway you can also pick up a DVD copy in The Source.

One of my Production Pet Peeves is stage clutter. wires, instruments and microphones are just a few of the things i can’t stand to see behind our pastor when the lights fade up for his message.
I wish there was a good clean way to transition all the instruments and music clutter off after worship and back on after the message.
The other day I was watching a message by Pace Hartfield at Fellowship Church and at the end of his message i noticed something that caught me completely off guard…

They did what? That’s right…They can rotate their stage. This is definitely something I’d love to build at Northway in the near future.

http://www.freefoto.com is a site I just came across and
is made up of 123340 images with 157 sections organized into 3400 categories. It is the largest collection of free photographs on the Internet.

The great thing about it is non-commercial users may download their web size images to use off-line in - among other things…church services.

Enjoy. More free resources to come.

The lights blinded white as the band breaks down to the crowd singing out to God “You are the everlasting God.”
This was the setting during the last song of our worship set this past weekend when….

Everlasting Technical Interupt from Dave Bookhout on Vimeo.

No this wasn’t some technical mishap. This took planning and strategic creativity to pull off. Buddy followed by asking some tough questions…”If there were no lights, no music, no HD video screens, no coffee…Would you still come to Northway Church?” These things are all culturally relevant methods to help reach people for Christ’s kingdom, but the culture cannot eclipse the creator…Culture is just the vehicle…Christ is the brand.

We continually get requests for our resources at Northway, and from time to time, we think there is some stuff that people could use, and we want to get it out there.
See below for links to our resources for the series, “Hello, My Name is God.” It was an incredible series, and we hope these resources will benefit you. So, watch…spread the word…and enjoy!

I usually try to focus on producing the film side of our productions but this was one of my rare dabbles in After Effects. Kids rooms are great for chroma keying as one of them usually has a bright green wall. That tip is free…Maybe I’ll charge for the next one.

Anytime I come across free media available for download I’ll be posting links here. My goal for this blog is for it to become a portal to resources and knowledge that can help you more effectively reach people for Christ.

Just came across this site that has some free media resources…Not a ton, but you can eat the chicken and spit out the bones.

Buddy recently took our cameras live backstage and around around our Clifton Park location to take a behind the scenes look at the people who make it all happen. I want to specifically brag on our production team and let you know we have some of the most selfless volunteers in the world who are always willing and eager to learn more and do they’re best to God with creative excellence.

One of the things I am passionate about is Church Production Excellence…I whole heartedly believe that Hollywood or Vegas productions should have nothing on the church….Something that my team and I are striving for with our church production is to become the best…because as the Church we should be setting the pace not trying to play catch up.

I have watched a lot of video pieces from a lot of churches….Some great, some greater, some are hardly even worthy of public access TV. Some of my favorites are produced by my friends at LifeChurch.tv and Fellowship Church These guys are producing Hollywood caliber stuff and leading the way to new innovative creative visual and film concepts….Check out the teaser for lifechurch’s series “At the Movies”

Here is another one of my favorite Church produced videos from the guys at Port City Community Church…This is also lagit.

On that topic I would love for you guys to comment links to some other Hollywood caliber church videos you’ve come across.

While I was at C3 (fellowship Church’s annual conference in grapevine TX) a couple months ago I got the oppertunity to see some of their best stuff from throughout the year. One of the best videos they showed was a Trans-Siberian / God rest ye merry gentlemen Remix. I could explain it more but Pace Hartfield recently posted a great blog on the creation process of this creative masterpiece.
