One of my Production Pet Peeves is stage clutter. wires, instruments and microphones are just a few of the things i can’t stand to see behind our pastor when the lights fade up for his message.
I wish there was a good clean way to transition all the instruments and music clutter off after worship and back on after the message.
The other day I was watching a message by Pace Hartfield at Fellowship Church and at the end of his message i noticed something that caught me completely off guard…

They did what? That’s right…They can rotate their stage. This is definitely something I’d love to build at Northway in the near future.

I totally agree. for some reason that I cannot explain, I have always hated watching a pastor, whether it’s on a video or live, giving an awesome message, standing in front of a drum kit and microphones. It always felt like the stage was really devoted to the music, and the pastor just has to step around these things.

The rotating stage is pretty nifty, but there’s a few ‘cheaper’ things you can do as well… such as lowering full size screens behind the pastor when the band is walking offstage, and using rear-projection on those screens to show any video loop background behind the pastor during his message. they have really started utilizing this concept in theater recently.

So if you are gonna rotate the stuff out of sight, can we have our amps and monitors back on stage? Please?!?!?!
